Character Interview with Laney Briggs

Today we are honored to announce that we have the gun toting sassy Southern deputy by the name of Laney Briggs who came all the way from Pistol Rock, Texas to chat with us. Welcome Laney!

Our first question for you is an important one, what kind of Krispy Kreme donut is your favorite?

Laney: The right-out-of-the-oven-melt-in-your-mouth ones. I do enjoy myself a sweet, delicious, warm, and oh so yummy threat.

All silliness and donuts aside, how are things in Pistol Rock treating you these days? I know you can't tell us too much since Whatcha Gonna Do With A Cowboy comes out soon, but give us something!

Laney: Well, I did wrangle myself a hot, good-timing Texas Ranger. And yeah, he’s been keeping me on my toes and off. Not to mention the other day I had a run-in with a hotheaded Federal Marshal. Now, that was an interesting day. Wrangling cowboys and solving crime is just all in a days work of being the only female deputy in Pistol Rock. I mean, someone’s gotta keep the good ‘ol boys in line.

Ok, so you can't tell us - but a fellow fan, Veronica wants to know "Where do you see yourself in FIVE years?" Your dreams, hopes and aspirations. We are trying to get you to sneak us spoilers, so quit looking at us that way!

Laney: I’ve always wanted to visit the capital of Texas. Maybe one day I’ll be taking a much needed vacation with a cowboy. Other than that, I hope to squash my competition in the sheriff race. Really the skies the limit.

Speaking of deadly looks, there is one man who I believe you said has a "wink that was deadlier than a Krispy Kreme donut to a woman's waistline." How is Gunner behaving lately? (Us readers hope he is being naughty!)

Laney: I’ve never been one to kiss and tell. Okay, y’all pulled my arm. Let’s just say Sunday mornings have been more than a little bit pleasurable. And Gunner set the record straight more than once that his “wink can pin my back against a wall”. And boy, do I love watching my Texas Ranger shuck his tight ass Wranglers.

Inquiring minds (Like Shey) want to know - Why the RED boots?

Laney: Gunner gave me my first pair of red cowboy boots for my sixteenth birthday. Still today I can’t get myself to wear another color. He won me over with those boots.

Other than the two obvious choices of Luke and Gunner (swoon!) Who is your dream cowboy hunk?

Laney: If I ever got a chance to have a run-in with Raylan Givens, well…Gunner might have to cough up the goods to not get me to shake that cowboy’s hand.

THE Raylan Givens that could give Gunner
a run for his money!!!

Got any juicy gossip about Jodi? We won't tell her!!!

Laney: She’ll deny it, but she’s probably encountered a few members of my family.

And finally before we let you go, we like to play this game where we give you a word or phrase, and you tell us the FIRST thing that comes to your mind, you ready?
Wranglers  Gunner Wilson
Texas Ranger  hot, sweaty, and delicious
Love  comforting
Everythings Bigger In Texas the bulge beneath the faded zipper fly of a pair of Wranglers
Brantley Gilbert - tattoos

Haha. Well, this was fun Laney! Thanks for taking the time to chat with us! I hope to chat again after the release of 'Whatcha Gonna Do With a Cowboy'

Miss Know-It-All Interview w/ Codi Gary!

Ten Questions with Miss Know It All featuring our very own, Codi Gary!

I’m here today having a phone interview with the infamous Miss Know It All, who has agreed to answer ten questions of my choosing. Now, she has disguised her voice, so we might not guess her identity, but I have a pretty good idea of who she is. Do you?
Welcome Miss Know It All!
*Loud clapping *
Miss Know It All’s Robotic Voice: Thank you, it’s good to be here.
So, you’ve been spreading gossip for over a year now and you’ve agreed to let us ask you ten questions, except “Who are you?” Is that right?
That’s right.
Question One: Are you a man or a woman?
Ah, ah…none of that.
What, I didn’t ask who you were. Just trying to narrow down the search.
I’ll let that be a warm up question, but I’m not giving you any particulars about my identity.
Fine, but your language to me says you’re female.
I could be pretending.
True. Alright, official Question One: where do you get your information?
I have a tip line, but I follow up things I hear around town.
Question Two: Do you ever feel bad about the things you write? Some of your blogs and columns have been brutal to some of the townspeople.
No, I only speak the truth. If they’re ashamed of the things they’re doing, then maybe they should think twice before doing them.
Question Three and Four: What about the couples you’ve mashed up? Do you really root for them to make it, or are you happier when they are miserable because it’s more fodder for you to spread about?
First off, I am not the bad guy. I just lay it all out there when I hear gossip being bandied about. I’m not one of the nasty old biddies who sit around whispering about you at the salon. I just say what everyone else is, only louder. So, no, I don’t want my favorite couples to break up. I am a romantic at heart and love a good happily ever after.
Question Five: You say you love a good happily ever after. Have you ever written about your own on the blog?
That’s a sneaky question, but I’ll let it slide. No, I haven’t met my soul mate yet, but someday I’ll find him.
His name wouldn’t be Eric Henderson, would it?
Ha, you’re fishing again, and I am counting that as number six! But no, it is definitely not Eric Henderson.
Fine, Question Seven: You know eventually you’ll be found out. Any worry over how people will react when they learn your identity?
I figure, by the time I retire, people will be so sick of me they will have given up trying to guess.
I think you don’t give the mystery surrounding you enough credit, but we will see. Question Eight: Have you ever almost been caught?
A few times people might have wondered what I was doing eavesdropping, but no, no one has accused me. Lots of other people may be suspects, but not me.
You mean, like Gracie McAllister and Mrs. Andrews. People commonly assume that one of them is you.
Well, it makes sense. Biggest gossips in Rock Canyon. They enjoy telling it like it is.
But are you saying you aren’t one of them?
I’m saying that Officer Sam Weather likes to gossip and Kirsten Stewart is at Buck’s Shot Bar nearly every night. I could be anyone. Even the person you least suspect.
Last Question: Who do you think your next victim will be?
If I had to guess, I’d say Mike Steven is about due. Have you seen his new custom bike? It’s a call for trouble if I’ve ever seen something and as Miranda and Carrie say, “I’ve got a real good feeling something bads about to happen.”
Well, thanks for joining us Miss Know It All! Keep doing what you’re doing.
I always do.

Melinda Harris & Characters Innterview!

1) What is your favorite book of all time?
Melinda: Oh, the pressure! It's no secret I'm an Austen fan, but a romance writer liking Jane Austen is kind of given, is it not? Honestly, I fall in love with a new book every week. There are too many amazing authors out there. I can't imagine trying to choose only one favorite.
2) The men in your books - do you write what you know?
Melinda: Yes and no. I have muses in some cases, but my characters usually end up being a good combination of familiar and unknown. I enjoy venturing out of my comfort zone with characters, trying on new personalities and feeling those emotions. I love the compassion and understanding that comes along with that process. It's my favorite part of writing.
3) With the Fangirl series, how many do you plan to write?
Melinda: As of right now, there will be four (one for each girl) and possibly a novella.
Are you writing from the girls of Delia or will you venture to the men of the London? (Reaching for Ollie!!)
Melinda: Swoon. I'm in love with Ollie too, but I honestly haven't given much thought to writing books about The London Boys. I'm not saying it won't happen, but I don't have it in my sights at the moment. Let's just say...you never know.
4) Who is your real "Ethan?"
Melinda: I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you. ;-) No seriously, I'm always hesitant to tell people this because what if you're not a fan? Then Ethan may be ruined for you, and I certainly don't want that. Ethan is whoever you want him to be. That's the beauty of reading, right? Right? Can we still be friends? Pretty please?
5) How do you feel about dog-earred books?
Melinda: As opposed to bookmarks, I assume? If yes, then I would say I have zero problems with dog-earred books. I own several books where I have dog-earred the pages of my favorite parts. That way, whenever I need a fix, I can pick it up and go directly where I want to be. Sometimes that results in me reading the entire book again for the millionth time, but there's not a thing wrong with that either.
6) Are London Boys based off a real group like Ethan was?
Melinda: Not really. And if I'm being completely honest, boy bands aren't really my thing these days. But you know what? I found myself listening to various boy band songs while writing certain scenes, and there may or may not have been a few spontaneous dance breaks.
7) What is the best fangirl moment you've had? Either as the fan or the receiver)
Melinda: I've been blessed with a few of these on both sides, but the one that immediately comes to mind was when my sister surprised me with a copy of "You Never Know" signed by "the real Ethan Grant". I cried like a baby when she gave it to me. It is definitely a prized possession and something I will cherish for the rest of my days.
8) This question is for Sydney - Do you still hate boats?
Sydney: No, but don't tell Simon. I think he likes it when he feels like he's protecting me. Plus, he has these adorably sexy ways of helping me overcome my fears. Be jealous, ladies. Be very, very jealous.
9) This question is for Lacey - Have you retired your pearls for good?
Lacey: I think so. Shedding that familiar layer was like cutting the final tie to my parents. It was scary, but it felt good. I'm comfortable in my skin for the first time in my life, and I have my sweet Sydney to thank for that. That girl's so much smarter than she gets credit for.
10) This question is for Ollie - What is your favorite flavor of Ben & Jerry's? (Girls gotta plan if you ever tire of Lacey! LOL)
Ollie: Depends on who I'm licking it off of, my lovelies. Have to see what flavor pairs best with yours. Care to do some research?

Our 1st Ever Special Guest, Katie Trespasso from Rock Canyon

Pick up this book on April 22nd!
In honor of the release of 'Good Girls Don't Date Rock Stars,' (OUT TODAY!!!) we are here to interview Katie Trespasso from Rock Canyon's 1st Installment, 'Things Good Girls Don't Do.' Thank you for taking the time from your busy schedule to chat with us for a few.

Our readers at 'A Reader Lives a Thousand Lives' are eager to know how you, Chase, Slinks and baby Lorie are doing?

We are fantastic! Chase is such an amazing father and Lorie is so big! She's started crawling, which freaks Slinks out a little, but I actually caught him laying near her the other day. Baby steps.

Time flies when it comes to your babies growing up! I am sure your Momma thought the same thing about you! What is the one piece of advice your Momma gave you that you will be sure to pass on to Lorie?

I am going to pass on the golden rule, which is to treat others as you would like to be treated with one amendment. That is if people treat you rudely, to stand up for yourself.

I love that advice. It seems like a good mixture of your Momma and what you got from Chase too. I am dying to know if you have you let Chase tattoo you again? (If so, can you share with our readers what & where?)

Actually, after Lorie's six month birthday, I got Lorie's name tattooed under my original tattoo. And this time, I think I was a tad tougher than before (Chase told me there were only a few whimpers.)

We know that Chase calls you his 'Firecracker,' (which I know you always thought it was silly but, I fine adorable!!!) do you have a nickname for him that you could share with the readers? Other than "Cornballs," of course.

Actually, I don't have a nickname for him, unless he makes me angry, but I'm sure your readers don't want me to repeat it. ;)

Haha. I am sure that sweet man who did all those romantic gestures to win you back doesn’t do much to deserve your nickname for him often! Speaking of romantic gestures: The mixed c.d. he made you when he was completing "HIS LIST" was so sweet. 'A classic romantic gesture, right?' If you could pick a song to describe your life what would it be?

Yes, it was super romantic, but to just chose one song? I don't know, maybe, Just Another Day in Paradise by Lone Star? Because we have both been so sleep deprived and crazy. It is definitely an adjustment having a baby, and we did have to buy a new washing machine because I have a bit of an addiction. I love to buy Lorie clothes and she spits up on almost every outfit or explodes a diaper, so I am constantly doing laundry and...I know it sounds like I'm complaining, but I wouldn't change a minute of my life. Chase is amazing and I love watching them together. They are my paradise.

That is awesome! Sounds just like paradise. Speaking of lists, do you still find yourself making lists? Are they a little different now?

I've always made lists, and I admit, I sometimes make out daily lists so I don't forget things. And then there are the fun lists, like the one I made on our honeymoon.;) I even made him a "Why I love him" list last Valentine's day. I know it's corny.

Not corny! Perfect. It fits the story of how you two met and ended up together. It is fitting, not corny! We get the chance to meet Gemma Carlson and Travis Bowers soon. I hear they are from Rock Canyon as well. Can you tell us anything about them? I have heard some gossip from Mrs. Andrews, but you NEVER know how much truth comes out of that woman.

Ironically, Mrs. Andrew's doesn't talk about Gemma much. She actually seems to like Gemma, which is mind boggling, since she hardly likes anyone, but I heard a story from my mother once about Mrs. Andrew's sister. Apparently, their father was the minister at our church and her older sister got pregnant out of wedlock and her parents kicked her out. So, it could be Gemma brings out the softer side of the old rag.
I went to high school with Travis and Gemma (I was in Travis's grade) but I only know of him. Gemma, I've been doing her hair for years, and she is a sweetheart. I think you'll really like her.

We have one more thing to ask you before we let you go, and we promise to keep this a secret. Tell me something crazy about Codi! Something she wouldn't tell us about herself! Make it juicy!!!

Crazy about Codi? Hmmm....she had no idea who Adam Levine was until two months ago.(Anything juicier would be gossip and I don't do that ;-))

Wow! I bet she feels like she is missing out because that man is eye candy for sure! We will have to
2012's Sexiest Man Alive - According to People and
MOST woman with a pulse! :)
take Codi to Sweet Tarts and teach her about all that she is missing out on. I mean Adam Levine? Well Katie, this has really been a blast. I have enjoyed talking with you today. Promise to keep in touch? I can't wait to see what the future holds for the Trespasso's. Thanks again for stopping by our blog!

Thank you for having me! I'm sure you'll see me again!
