Kidnapping the Brazilian Tycoon

Addison Reed lost her fiancĂ©, but she’ll do whatever it takes to protect his legacy. When the gorgeous and arrogant landowner, Brazilian millionaire Bruno Duarte, who is thwarting her at every turn, refuses to meet with her, she puts her plan into action. He will listen to her.

Bruno’s plan was simple: return to Brazil and marry to fulfill his father’s dying wish. But when his engagement crumbles, and he’s then stranded with an idealistic woman hell-bent on saving a tribe of people on his land, he sees the perfect solution. If his feisty and passionate abductor agrees to a bogus marriage, he’ll relocate the tribe.

With the Brazilian heat rivaling the growing heat of their desire, will Bruno and Addison abandon their respective plans and give in to each other, or will their differences tear them apart?

Let's start with this cover! I mean - WOW! (I adore how Romance books can have these cheesy titles! They always make me giggle!) Don't let that steer you from this book. Intense, hot and made me feel like I was sitting on the beaches in Brazil! This book was filled with everything but cheese!

This is a first for me from Carmen Falcone. And I was beyond pleased. Carmen's take on enemies to lovers in this book was fun and intriguing. Addie has such pain and sorrow behind her mission that her drastic measures to obtain her goals make your heart ache. Mix a brooding, sexy Brazilian billionaire in the mix who needs her to successfully pull of his plan - this is bound to be a disaster of epically hot proportions. The physical attraction is instantaneous, but both Bruno and Addie have their own reasons for not giving into the lust.

"I was torn between slapping your face or kissing you. I went with kidding you because, you know, I'm a pacifist."
"Make love and not war is always a good motto."

I loved every up in the story. I loved every stolen touch, every stolen glance and the grand gestures. I love all these moments almost as much as the bumps. The bumps were so much fun. Bruno and Addie are snarky and ultra sassy - and I love every second of it. These two really felt like a real couple.

"Addie, meu amor, for a wife of convenience, you're very inconvenient."

You get your HEA in the end, and with a cast of lovable and enticing supporting characters, I can easily see reading about Bruno's siblings. An easy 4 for Carmen and her Brazilian Tycoon! I would LOVE to know who she envisioned as Bruno! This is who I read him as!

Now let's show Carmen some LOVE!!!

***Received a copy for an honest review***

I loved the story. It was deep and dark and different from most romances you read these days. I eagerly turned pages to find out the whereabouts of each character. It's characters like this that make reading feel so real to me. I felt like I was there with Duke, Rob and Melanie praying for her safe return.

The story was such a powerful one that I was surprised how long it took to get really going. It was interesting to see the progress of writing style throughout the book. Usually, I can see an author's writing improve with each book - but it was fun to see it happen within this book. By the end, I was eager for the next one to come out!

Duke is just an all-around awesome guy from his respect of his relationship to Mel to his undying love for Raya. I was rooting for him from the beginning. Mel is the epitome of what you would think is a total B****, but she is sweet as pie. (Almost too sweet! But I know this is what Raya needs - heck it is what we all need as girls in high school... I guess, with the epidemic of 'mean girls' - Mel's kindness seems unreal) I hope we see Mel find her HEA in future books by Madison Street.

Overall, I give this book a strong 3.5 stars. If you are looking for a romance like nothing you are used to, give this book a go! I would love to know what you think when you are done!!!

Let's show Madison SOME LOVE!

Melinda Harris & Characters Innterview!

1) What is your favorite book of all time?
Melinda: Oh, the pressure! It's no secret I'm an Austen fan, but a romance writer liking Jane Austen is kind of given, is it not? Honestly, I fall in love with a new book every week. There are too many amazing authors out there. I can't imagine trying to choose only one favorite.
2) The men in your books - do you write what you know?
Melinda: Yes and no. I have muses in some cases, but my characters usually end up being a good combination of familiar and unknown. I enjoy venturing out of my comfort zone with characters, trying on new personalities and feeling those emotions. I love the compassion and understanding that comes along with that process. It's my favorite part of writing.
3) With the Fangirl series, how many do you plan to write?
Melinda: As of right now, there will be four (one for each girl) and possibly a novella.
Are you writing from the girls of Delia or will you venture to the men of the London? (Reaching for Ollie!!)
Melinda: Swoon. I'm in love with Ollie too, but I honestly haven't given much thought to writing books about The London Boys. I'm not saying it won't happen, but I don't have it in my sights at the moment. Let's just say...you never know.
4) Who is your real "Ethan?"
Melinda: I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you. ;-) No seriously, I'm always hesitant to tell people this because what if you're not a fan? Then Ethan may be ruined for you, and I certainly don't want that. Ethan is whoever you want him to be. That's the beauty of reading, right? Right? Can we still be friends? Pretty please?
5) How do you feel about dog-earred books?
Melinda: As opposed to bookmarks, I assume? If yes, then I would say I have zero problems with dog-earred books. I own several books where I have dog-earred the pages of my favorite parts. That way, whenever I need a fix, I can pick it up and go directly where I want to be. Sometimes that results in me reading the entire book again for the millionth time, but there's not a thing wrong with that either.
6) Are London Boys based off a real group like Ethan was?
Melinda: Not really. And if I'm being completely honest, boy bands aren't really my thing these days. But you know what? I found myself listening to various boy band songs while writing certain scenes, and there may or may not have been a few spontaneous dance breaks.
7) What is the best fangirl moment you've had? Either as the fan or the receiver)
Melinda: I've been blessed with a few of these on both sides, but the one that immediately comes to mind was when my sister surprised me with a copy of "You Never Know" signed by "the real Ethan Grant". I cried like a baby when she gave it to me. It is definitely a prized possession and something I will cherish for the rest of my days.
8) This question is for Sydney - Do you still hate boats?
Sydney: No, but don't tell Simon. I think he likes it when he feels like he's protecting me. Plus, he has these adorably sexy ways of helping me overcome my fears. Be jealous, ladies. Be very, very jealous.
9) This question is for Lacey - Have you retired your pearls for good?
Lacey: I think so. Shedding that familiar layer was like cutting the final tie to my parents. It was scary, but it felt good. I'm comfortable in my skin for the first time in my life, and I have my sweet Sydney to thank for that. That girl's so much smarter than she gets credit for.
10) This question is for Ollie - What is your favorite flavor of Ben & Jerry's? (Girls gotta plan if you ever tire of Lacey! LOL)
Ollie: Depends on who I'm licking it off of, my lovelies. Have to see what flavor pairs best with yours. Care to do some research?

Enemies on Tap (A Sweet Salvation Novel)

Brewing up trouble one pint at a time.

Enemies ...After years away, Miranda Sweet returns to Salvation, Virginia to save her family's brewery, but her fate is in the hands of her lover-turned-enemy, Logan. What's a girl to do when the only person who can help her is the man who betrayed her?

Lovers ...Logan Martin can't believe his luck when the woman who smashed his heart to smithereens walks into his bank asking for his help. What she doesn't know is that he needs the land her brewery is on--and he'll do whatever it takes to get it.

An Irresistible Combination ...Their wager becomes a battle between their attraction and their determination to win. But it's in each other's arms that they realize there might be more at stake now than their bet. With the town against the Sweet Salvation Brewery's success, Logan has to choose between what's expected of him and what he really wants.

This is my first Avery Flynn novel, and it is a safe bet to say it will not be my last. (Especially when it comes to Salvation! Gotta love them Sweet Triplets!) I stumbled upon Avery while participating in an online release party. Her talent with creating stories like this one was a SWEET discovery. (Pun intended!!!)

Miranda Sweet comes from the small town of Salvation where Ruby Sue's pecan pie and the hatred between the Martin's and Sweet's are Salvation staples in life. Miranda and her 2 sisters left town with the intention of never returning. The last name of Sweet held a stigma none of the Sweet girls wanted. After the passing of their Uncle Julian, they were the not so proud owners of 'Sweet Salvation Brewery.' When she finds that Logan still lived in town she decided, "Pretty blondes in poorly made horror movies had better odds of survival than Miranda."

Avery couldn't have penned it better when she penned this gem to give you a better idea of the tension between the Sweet's and Martin's: "West Virginia had the Hatfields and the McCoys. Shakespeare had the Capulets and the Montagues. Salvation had the Martins and the Sweets." In order for Miranda to turn the brewery around and be able to return to her life OUTSIDE of Salvation, she needed Logan's help. Logan wasn't the helpful kind. (No Martin was!)
"You're a pompous ass and a double-dealing scoundrel."
"Such flattery." He pressed his palms to his cheeks. "I do believe I'm blushing"
Truces are a funny thing. Logan and Miranda had so much going on with their day-to-day, they find comfort in spending time together during their truces. When the truce was done, they were back to fighting.
"Swords of dueling pistols in the morning?"
She knew it and he knew it. Their roles in the ongoing Salvation drama were set, and they had no choice but to play the parts assigned.
"Swords, of course."
We all know I am a sucker for small town novels. I love the characters. Ruby Sue and her pecan pie was my favorite. Her words of wisdom shined throughout this story.
"Look." Ruby Sue poked him in the arm with a surprisingly strong jab. "If an old lady knows anything, it's that fate loves to spit in the eye of idiots who think they have everything figured out."
Stubborn is the single word to describe these two! And I wouldn't have had it any other way. Suddenly, Salvation started to feel like home. Being a Sweet was something she became proud of, and nobody was going to stop her. They may try to shut the brewery down, but they won't run this Sweet out of Salvation. "She hadn't just drunk the Salvation Kool-Aid - she'd started to brew her own."

I just adored this story of second chances at first love, family pride, a strong sense of community and good beer! The HEA was perfect and pairs nicely with a brew named, "One Sweet Proposal!"

"This isn't just an itch we're trying to scratch, Sweetling."...
"It's not about our families or this shortsighted town."...
"This is about you and me."...
"Us."

Now let's show Avery Flynn some SWEET SWEET Love!

Cat's Take on LOST IN ME...

First and foremost, I must send a big THANK YOU to Kristyn for making me stop what I was doing and reading this AMAZING book!!! I am going to skip over the BLURB, if you need to know, check out Kristyn's awesome review of this book: CLICK HERE - YOU KNOW YOU WANNA! On to the book!

Amnesia is tough. Especially when you wake up engaged to a man you have lusted since before you knew what lust really was - but don't remember dating him. It's even tougher when you wake up to another sexier man who can play your body like it is his sole purpose in like.

Okay, maybe that doesn't sound tough from the outside. All the unanswered questions and fuzzy dreams that Hanna is experiencing is too much. An accidental fall down the stairs causes Hanna to wake up 50 pounds lighter and a totally different woman than she was 11 months earlier. Will she ever get her memories back?

Lexi writes these characters that tug at your heart strings! I hurt when Hanna hurts. I swoon when Lizzy watches Nate. I feel the uncertainty that Nix feels about the "accident." Let me introduce you to the people you will fall in love with when you pick up this book.

Maximillian Halloweell is the epitome of perfection. Personal trainer who owns his own gym and sexy as all get out. Hanna admires him from a distance as he admires all the pretty 'skinny' girls around. When she wakes up - Max is no different from her idea of perfection - except, he is hers! *insert swooning fanigirl moment here* (I will admit, something about him rubs me the wrong way - from page one...I still don't know why! I'd still make out with this fictional hottie though!) Max has lines for days and is the giver of the rock sitting on Hanna's ring finger. "I know you don't remember. I'll win your heart all over again if I have to." How does a girl not get weak in the knees with lines like this?

Only reason to NOT go weak in the knees is this Hulk tattoo wearing Rock God, who goes by the name of Nate Crane. "God concentrated sexiness and gave it to the world though Nate Crane's voice. The boy could melt the panties off a nun" Unsure as to how she knows this man, or his place since she is so clearly engaged to Max.
"Do I know you?" I ask.
He lets out a huff and stares at the starlit sky.  "Yeah. You know." When he drops his gaze back to meet mine, his eyes are moist with unshed tears. "I'm the idiot who's in love with you."
In love with me? "But, I'm engaged."
Secrets are revealed, and memories are starting to show themselves. Scones are being baked and lattes are being made all while wedding dresses are being tried on.
By the last page, I wanted TWO THINGS:
1) To be a part of this world. I wanted to be a groupie to Asher and Nate. Friends with Lizzy, Nix and all the girls. Spend girls nights drinking chocolate martinis. I want to kiss Nate, smack Meredith and find out about the accident.
2) To read book TWO!

I can't tell you about the pregnancies, the silent partners, the trips to LA or the tapered candle incident. You will need to pick up this book and thank me later! I will send your thanks to Kristyn who has my undying gratitude for getting me to read this FIVE STAR BOOK!!!
Now let's so Lexi Ryan some LOVE!!!

Book Nerd's Dozen - Madison Street

Today we welcome MADISON STREET. Amazon tells us: Madison Street was born in New York City and was raised in the Bronx, where she resided until she was 17 years old. After 9/11, Madison joined the United States Navy to serve her country.

During the deployments, Madison constantly wrote short stories and she discovered her passion for writing. You will find Madison always on the computer, whether she's on Facebook, designing websites, messing with Photoshop, or writing for her blog.
Besides writing, her second passion is music and dance. Even though she's a terrible singer, she'll still belt it out in the shower, especially if the song is her jam! She currently resides in Virginia with her husband of 8 years, 2 children, a dog, and a cat. She is so excited to start this amazing journey and is honored to be part of such a compassionate and loving community.

Waiting in line at Starbucks, what are you ordering? What name do you give?
Madison: Well, you know the funny thing is I actually don’t like Starbucks coffee. I prefer the real deal coffee straight from Columbia. That’s what I grew up drinking. However, I absolutely love the hot chocolate from Starbucks, so I usually order the Venti hot chocolate with whip cream and a marble pound cake slice. Yum!! I might go get some right now! Who cares if it’s 90 degrees today! Ha!

Who was your first book boyfriend?
Madison:My first will always be Mr. Darcy from Pride & Prejudice. I read that book when I was 14 years old and have loved him ever since. I think his character are what other current book boyfriends strive to be. Mr. Darcy is witty, sexy, rich, mysterious, handsome, rugged, smoldering, but he’s also gentle, graceful, proper, brave, honest, and smoldering!!! Yup, 15 years later and I still love him! LOL

Last song you couldn't get enough of?
Madison: I just discovered Chandelier by Sia and it’s been on replay for the past week. I even have my husband listening to it. And I actually thought of a new story so I might start plotting a whole new book pretty soon.

At this very moment, do your socks match?
Madison: I hate wearing socks! But when I do wear them they don’t match…what’s the point of matching socks?? No one sees them cuz my shoes hide them!

Dog-earring: okay or unforgivable?
Madison: Ha!! Not my style! That is just trifling!

What is your super power?
Madison: Hmmm….tough question. My super power is the ability to get my husband to do whatever I want. Seriously…no matter how hard he tries to withstand my pouty lips or my puppy dog eyes, he ALWAYS caves and he hates it! He always says to me, “You’re lucky I love you.” LOL

Dog person or cat person?
Madison: A little bit of both. I have a dog and a cat and I treat them both like my children.

Nickname?
Madison: Juicy bootie!!! Hahaha!!!!

If you had to leave one piece of advice for the next generation, what would it be?
Juicy Bootie: Hmm another good question. No matter what life throws at you always remember, every day is a second chance.

Tell me about your best author fangirl moment! (Either one you had or one someone had with you!)
Madison: I’ve never had a moment happen to me but as a reader I went to a book signing in March and I got to meet Jake Wilson, the muse for Hilary Storm. That man is so freaking hot and I got to take a picture with him. He pulled me into his rock hard chest and squeezed me and holy hell, he smelled so good!! I even got to kiss his cheek and feel his muscles!! LOL never forget that day!!

Are the men in your stories your ideal? Do you write them based off of someone?
Madison: Duke, the hero in my story is the splitting image of my husband, even the physical descriptions are identical. I try to base male characters off of men that I’ve met as I try to make my story as real as possible.

Now, this one is important... Do you return your buggy to it's proper location after grocery shopping?
Madison: Ha!! Guilty as charged! I always leave it in the parking lot by my car unless the cart return area is close to me…I mean, come on now..I’m lazy and I’ll be the first to admit that.

And finally, for the last and final question in your Book Nerd's Dozen:
Can you leave us fans with some juicy tidbit? A secret? (WE WON'T TELL!) A pet peeve?
Madison: A huge pet peeve of mine is seeing all of the “Ranting” on Facebook. I think people have forgotten what FB was actually designed for. It’s not for telling the whole world about your personal issues or dislikes. It’s about being able to connect with love ones or to meet and network with colleagues, to talk about similar interests and bond with those who enjoy what you enjoy. I’m so tired of seeing all the negativity on social media and it’s put a hinder on my own pages. I just don’t log on as much as I used to but hopefully one day, that’ll all change.
