Piercing thoughts about Adam?
Catherine: Adam. "Rich. Adam Pierce was rolling in money. This morning when I saw him on TV he was wearing a designer jacket and posing against a bike that looked like something out of a science fiction movie and probably cost a lot more than my car." Evil? Sure! Crazy? Yep! Still, I was in lust. Haha. His cocky self had me thinking the story would turn down a different street. I know, I know - he is the villain. But, I'll be damned if Andrews doesn't write an amazingly sexy bad guy. And then you have your heroine who is contracted to bring this hunk in UNHARMED. She may not physically harm him, but his ego is in for a bruising with this feisty lady. 

"You bought me a T-shirt?" He raised one eyebrow. 

Every nerve in my body was shivering with tension. Steady. "You keep forgetting to put one on, so I thought I'd bring you one. Since we're having a serious discussion."

He leaned forward, his beautiful face framed by soft hair. "Do you find my chest distracting?

"Yes. Every time I see that panther with horns, it makes me laugh."

If I could ask the authors ONE question about Adam, it would be - If he were to write Nevada a sonnet to get to fall in love (for the benefit of touching her!) what would it sound like. 

Kristyn: When I first started this book, I knew nothing of it except that it was the amazing Ilona andrews. I didn't read the description or anything. So at first I thought maybe this will be the love interest. At first, I could see it. He was cocky, funny, charming, and sexy. He was also very damaged.

"Love is control. People say they love you when they want to run your life. They wedge and pound you into a shape they find comfortable, and when you try to escape, they hog-tie you with guilt.My family figured it out years ago.  We've been marrying and breeding for profit for over a century.  No love involved."

I honestly felt for him.  He clearly grew up in a place where he was not loved, and did not know what love was. At first I kind of hoped Nevada was going to be the one to show him.. The more I read, the crazier he became and the less I liked him.   

 “I opened a writing app and began typing what I knew about Pierce.
Vain. Terminal fear of T-shirts or any other garment that would cover his pectorals.
Deadly. Doesn't hesitate to kill. Holding him at gunpoint would result in me being barbecued. Whee.
Likes burning things. Now here's an understatement. Good information to have, but not useful for finding him.
Antigovernment. Neither here nor there.
Hmm. So far my best plan would be to build a mountain of gasoline cans and explosives, stick a Property of US Government sign on it, and throw a T-shirt over Pierce's head when he showed up to explode it. Yes, this would totally work.”

 
 

Mad about Rogan?
Catherine: I bet any woman with a pulse, to not fall hard for the badass that is Mad Rogan. The tension could be cut with a knife. And the relationship that formed between him and Nevada was nothing short of comical. Rogan is a Prime with top notch powers partners with Nevada for the greater good of bringing Adam in. Dangerous, no regard for human life are just a few things that Nevada associates with Rogan, and yet she finds herself seeking his help. (And dreaming about him in less than professional situations!) 

 “He glanced at me, his eyes dark. "Would you rather talk about your dream?"
"No."
"Considering that I was featured in it, I think I deserve to know the particulars. Were my clothes missing because we were in bed? Was I touching you?" He glanced at me. His voice could've melted the clothes off my body. "Were you touching me?”

He doesn't hide his attraction to Nevada and that is the most entertaining thing since it obviously makes her so damn uncomfortable. 

"So the best way to fight you is to strip naked and attack?"

His eyes flashed with a wicked light. "Yes. You should try it and see what happens."

He almost has a robotic feel to his approach to situations that are emotion filled. He approaches relationships and problems so logically it is humorous. 

"We should have sex."

I must have misheard. "I'm sorry, what?"

Kristyn: I have come to the conclusion that I love narcissistic, controlling, sexy, but kind of funny men. I am very picky about my book boyfriends.  I dont just call anyone that.  I can actually count on one hand the guys in books that I love and I LOVE Mad Rogan!  I agree completely with what Catherine says.  Throughout this book, I kept finding myself begging for Nevada to just give in already!  

 “He would have sex the way other men made war.”

Nevada though has issues.  She really doesn't like or trust primes at all.  I'm not sure what gives her this deep rooted prejudice but she turns him down over and over believing that primes are entirely selfish, power hungry, greedy people.  She believes that if she were to give in and maybe actually start to fall for him, it will lead to heart break later.  Because in her eyes, she would just be a fling, something non permanent because there is no way a prime would ever stay with someone like her, and that he would one day leave her to marry someone with a lot more power to ensure the future of his next generation is maybe even more powerful than Rogan himself.  But, I think the whole not falling for Rogan may be impossible for her, no matter how much she tries.  I love their witty banter the most. I love their witty banter and I love that fact that she was terrified of him at first, she still did things like this...

“You seem to be under the impression that I work for you and you can give me orders. Let me fix that." I hung up.”

The more they work together, the more I love seeing them work together.

 “One school of thought says that the best way to handle an issue like this is exposure therapy," Mad Rogan said. "For example, if you're terrified of snakes, repeated handling of them will cure it."
Aha. "I'm not handling your snake.” 

What kind of magic would you want? 

Catherine: I am really not sure. I know that I would NOT want to be a truthseeker. While it has it's benefits, I don't want to be able to always know what is the truth. Fire? HELL NO. I would burn myself. But, the ability to throw stuff would be AWESOME! 

Kristyn: I honestly do not know. It seems like the kind of powers Rogan has is scary.  He can lose himself in them and not know who is around him and capable of hurting anyone.  Definitely not fire and being a truth seeker is scary.

Penny for your thoughts on Nevada?
Catherine: Nevada is such a complex character. She fights all emotion and hides her talents. She holds all this responsibility for her family that it breaks my heart. While she is incredibly close to her family, she shelters so much from everyone. Rogan somehow breaks the walls. She shows such bravery (laced with LOTS of sass and snark) while dealing with Rogan - she just had so many layers. 

"Sure, let me get right on that." Hey, my voice still worked. "Should I bring my own chains this time? Or do you have bigger plans, and is this some sort of freaky murder foreplay"-why did the word foreplay just come out of my mouth - "and I'll end up cut up into small pieces inside some freezer at the end? I can just spray myself with mace and shoot myself in the head now and save you the trouble."

"Are you done?" he asked.

"Just getting started." I was so brave over the phone. 

Kristyn:  Nevada is a strong willed person who is trying and struggling to keep her family afloat.  Since her father passed away, she became the "man" of the family, so to speak.  Everything she does is for them.  She is incredibly strong emotionally to be able to handle the things that come her way.  She's closed off and doesn't seem to have a personal life at all.  No friends and no love interests.  Everything is for the greater good of the family.  Both her mom and grandmother were decorated soldiers, so its no wonder Nevada turned out such a strong woman. 

Favorite supporting character?
Catherine: Hands down - Nevada's Grandma. Epic character. And her need for pictures of the hotties in her granddaughter's life tells me that she and I would be BEST FRIENDS. 

Kristyn:  I LOVE her grandma.  She is hilarious but at the same time, a very incredibly wise woman. 
I also really liked Leon.   

 “You're Mad Rogan!" Leon burst out.
"Yes," Mad Rogan said, his voice calm.
"And you can break cities?"
"Yes."
"And you have all this money and magic?"
"Yes."
Where was Leon going with this?
My cousin blinked. "And you look . . . like that?"
Mad Rogan nodded. "Yes."
Leon's dark eyes went wide. He looked at Mad Rogan, then glanced back at himself. At fifteen, Leon weighed barely a hundred pounds. His arms and legs were like chopsticks.
"There is no justice in the world!" Leon announced.”

 



Lines you won't likely soon forget?

Catherine: I am just going with ONE. 

"Fine," he said. "You had no idea it could be this good. Nobody in your past was ever that good and you know that nobody in your future will ever be this good. You've had a taste and you want more. You want sex. Dirty, naked, hot sex. It's floating through your head as we speak. You think you can imagine what it would be like. Trust me, you have no idea. I haven't even started. So run from it, think it over, pretend it didn't happen, it doesn't matter. I'll allow it for now. The more you fight, the more irresistible it will become, until one day I'll motion with my hand and you'll come running."

Kristyn:  I second that!! that line was EPIC!!

Final thoughts?

Catherine: This was SO much more than a romance. I loved all the details about this world. The history behind the Houses was so intriguing. I loved learning all about Primes and the different jobs that were tied to each type of magic. Nevada's family was so much fun to get to know. I am incredibly eager for the next book in this series. The mystery and the chase held my attention for the entire book. The tension caused me to keep the fan on. Kristyn told me that Rogan was Book Boyfriend worthy - and she wasn't wrong. That  man will show up in my dreams for months to come. I am sure of it! 

Kristyn:  This book was beyond amazing!  It gave me a book hangover for three weeks!  I loved the characters, I loved Mad Rogan especially.  It wasn't just the character that I loved.  It was the world.  Only Ilona Andrews can create these worlds that you just fall in.  So imaginative and real.   Once you fall in, You want to stay there for ever.

Y'all know we are HUGE fans of this series. We have said it once, and we will say it again - this series is going to BLOW up. Like FSOG blow up. Victoria Green & Jinsey Reese have the ability to write a book so full of depth, emotion, cliffhangers (*evil stares* at the authors who are giddy every time they have left us hanging!)

"DARE"ing moments

Catherine: We have seen Dare in his darkest moments and his brightest moments during the first 4 episodes. During this final installment sent of his story, you see a well-rounded Dare. A Dare who knows what he wants and knows he isn't letting it go. Now, that doesn't mean this is a clean-cut story full of roses and sunshine. Dare has his moments. For me, most his moments are swoon-worthy. *NO SPOILERS* I will just share a few of my favorite Dare moments.

Kristyn: I love Dare in this book. I love how he fights for her. I love how him and Archer bond in this book and storm her fathers office. I just love the love that they have for each other.  

"All the gods in the world wouldn't be able to save him from my wrath."

I glanced up and could practically see the steam coming out of her ears. "Wow. Sounds very blue blood," I said with a laugh. "Do you think we'll be invited?" 

I glanced around the room. "I'm in the hospital?"
He nodded. "We really gotta stop meeting like this," he said with a smile.

"REE"ally eye-opening moments

Catherine: Ree. Ree is such a strong individual. A loving individual. She has never had the relationships that have allowed her to show this side. When you see her with Rex, you get a glimpse of her lack of confidence and her uncertainty. When you see her with Dare, you get a glimpse of true love. "This moment was what raw, real love was all about. It wasn't perfect. It was carnal, painful, beautiful, and even a little desperate." When working with the kids and their art - you get a glimpse of her true passion and calling. I have a TON of REEally eye-opening moments I would love to share, but I will stick with my favorite line from Ree. 

Kristyn: I agree with Catherine. Ree grew up with some really messed up stuff happening to her. Her parets are really horrible people. Its really amazing that she still is able to show such compassion and still love so much and with such an open heart. With everything she had been through, Im surprised she wasn't a whole lot worse.

"Dare au naturel. Be still my fucking heart."

"WILDE" additions

Catherine: Dax, Dalia, Dash and the band. Oh I love the Wilde's. (Except Daren... Grrrr!) I won't lie and tell you that this final episode is filled with our favorite supporting Wilde's - but the hinting at them is just enough to keep you going until the next Wilde gets their series. Dalia is my favorite - with her openness and her demeanor being the only girl with this guys. No wait, then there is Dax. When he hits on Ree, I just giggle. He might be my favorite. Oh, but then there is Dash. In a band, hidden stories about his past. Oh geez... 

Kristyn: I just cant wait for so much more from this family!

"God, Dare," Dax said as he and Dalia came up the front walk. "Do you ever let the girl breathe?"

"ARCHER" hits the bulls-eye in this one

Catherine: Archer is such a touchy area for me. I want to punch him for being a privileged douche, but he didn't have control over his situation. And then I wanted to punch him for allowing Ree to be as messed up as she was in the beginning, but she is her own person with her own ability to right her wrongs. And then I wanted to punch him for ALL the parts he took in manipulating her, but he sincerely cared for Ree. I think Archer won me over in this installment. Won me over enough to want me to petition Victoria & Reese to write his story. 

Kristyn: I loved Archer from the first book. He was such a female version of Ree. Both grew up in a messed up privileged life. Both drowned their feelings in meaningless sex and drugs. There were time that I didn't like him but I think he was the one person who did love Ree before Dare came along. I am excited to see the woman that can take Rees place in his heart.

"Reagan has always been the type to march to her own drum. She'd just spent too much time living life on mute until you came along. I might not be happy to admit it, but you're the best thing to ever happen to her." 

"REX"knows best

Catherine: While Rex has never been a lead character in this story, he is one of the most important parts of the story. He shows himself as the glue that holds everything together. He saved Dare when Dare was just a little kid. With saving Dare, he saved the other Wilde's. He took Ree in when she had nowhere to go. "With everything that had happened the past few months, I was more than grateful that Rex had been Ree's knight in paint-speckled armor." Rex is filled with so much wisdom, so much love and so much unending acceptance. 

"...What if i make a mistake?"
He shot me a big, lopsided grin. "Let's hope you do. Mistakes are the best way to learn."

"Real power isn't measured by the fire you breathe nor the pile of ashes you leave behind...it's about the hope you inspire."

"ROUSE"ing final thoughts

Catherine: 

1) I was GIDDY to see our names in the acknowledgements.

2) The entire 5 part series gets a HUGE 5 STARS for me. 

3) Ree's family continued to be a perplexing group, but luckily - there were some pleasant moments for me. 

4) I do not understand how EVERYONE has not read this series. 

5) I LOVE LOVE LOVE this book!

I Loved this book so much. I loved the happy ending. I don't even have words to describe how much I loved this book. I cannot wait for more from the Wild family.

In this latest installment, you are tossed back into the fun world of Charley Davidson and her hotter than hell boyfriend, Reyes. (*SWOON*) Some very important things come to light in this book and Kristyn and I decided to take a moment to discuss this points. SPOILER FREE, of course! 

What utensil would you be?

"Oh," I said after he set our plates down, "I forgot to ask you. If you were a utensil, what would you be?"

He took hold of my chin and lifted my face to his. "I have a feeling a machete and a spork can work very well together."

"Because I'm versatile. I can multitask like nobody's business. And I like the way it sounds. It's so...sporky."

Catherine: I think I would be a set of Tupperware or a pair of chopsticks. You can NEVER go wrong with Tupperware. It's microwavable and has stood the test of time. And chopsticks, you can eat with them AND put your hair up with them!!! 


Kristyn: I have given this lots of thought since reading this book and I just cant think of anything I would want to be. I do love Catherines answer of chopsticks. I wish I would have thought of it first! Does it have to be an eating utensil? is there any other type of utensil? How about a grater. That seems like it fits me.

With the proposal of the century (in the last book!) on a classy post-it, if they ever get married - where do you think they would get married? What would it be like?

"I decided to stick with my coffee. We loved each other, Joe and I. We would have a quiet wedding on a beach with only a few friends present, and I would be secretly praying for a blender. Surely someone would get me a blender."

Catherine: I imagine the two of those crazy kids getting married at the bar. Would Charley wear white? Nope. Who would walk her - Ubie or her Dad? I know Cookie would be her Maid of Honor. Would Mr. Wong show? There'd be coffee and beer. Cheez-Its too. And I am sure the cake would be HUGE. Lots to take home. Maybe themed! Oh, I hope we get to see a wedding. I can't imagine how Darynda would write the wedding of the century. This is bigger than a royal wedding!

"Do you think if I lived on Cheez-Its and coffee alone, I'd ultimately starve to death?"

Kristyn: I could actually see them eloping. Or kind of like a reverse shot gun wedding. well, not that she would have to be forced but I could imagine him kidnapping a priest and saying something like, 'Marry me now." Everyone would already conveniently being there watching it all go down. I mean why not? He took out her bedroom wall for crying out loud!

What was the moment that you fell even more in love with Reyes in this book? I know, I know. Reyes is a swoon-worthy son of Satan, and there were TONS. What is your favorite moment?

Catherine: Simple. 

With one corner of his mouth tipping sensually, he asked, "Want some coffee?"

And I fell.
I fell hard.

Me too Charley. Me too! Without saying anything more than YES or NO (no spoilers!) Kris, do you think Charley can handle decaf? If I were to hashtag that moment, my status would read something like #impressed

Kristyn: I did mention that he took out her bedroom wall, right?

What are your thoughts on Cookie's crush on Ubie? 

Catherine: I'll be honest. This is odd to me. I love Ubie and I love Cookie. I just hope it doesn't change the Charley and Cookie dynamic, you know? I will say his reaction to the last attempt was HILARIOUS. I love that Charley was the victim. Made me giggle out loud! 

 

Kristyn: Im glad something was finally done about this! I love how awkward cookie is around him. It did seem like a lot of this books focus was on their relationship

Thoughts on Charley's Dad jumping ship?

Catherine: I think he is dying. Or running from the law. Or sold his soul to the devil. Oh hell, I have NO clue. I know he is lying. I just don't know why. 

 

Kristyn: I have NO clue what is going on with her dad. But what I did find super strange is that his lying was just kinda brushed off. Why did we not learn more about this? Why was this kinda not made into a big deal? I wanna know!

If you could choose one character to have Darynda pen a spin-off with; who would it be?

Catherine: Swopes! Garrett is such an ass and I love it! I think he has a really interesting story to tell. 

 

Kristyn: I think it would be really cool to have  spin off with the runaway biker gang. I miss them and wonder what happened. Did they escape from the law? Does he think about that kiss him and Charlie shared? I hope we see them again someday.

Words on Wong?

Catherine: Kris and I have discussed this man a LOT. More than my dear Reyes this book. (He has his hands a little full with Charley right now!) Mr. Wong leaves me a little wordless. I know he has an important part in Charley's life - I just can't figure out what. And believe me, it is frustrating. 

Kristyn: I keep going around and around with this. Is he some type of warrior angel? Some type of protector? Is he bad and has been in her living room this whole time spying on her? This man/being/whatever he is bugs me more than anything else! I want this mystery solved!

Final Thoughts?/Favorite Lines

Catherine: I think this series is wrapping up. I feel like we were given a LOT of information and unanswered questions in this installment. I think it is all leading up to the end of the series. This would make me very sad, but having read how she ended her YA trilogy, I have no fear that this woman knows JUST  how to end it for us insane fans. 

 

"It's a beautiful day. I think I'll stick my meds and stir things up a bit."

 

"You could be like the demonic version of Dexter."

"Yeah, never bungee jump. Reality isn't the only thing that hits you in the face."

 

"I would expect nothing less from the son of evil incarnate. He's a good guy."

 

"The smile he wore could've charmed the panties off a nun."

Kristyn: This one, I have to admit, wasn't my favorite. Not that I didn't like it, cause I totally did. Just so many unanswered questions. so much nonchalance about weird things, and so many brushoffs. I want answers! Then toward the end, it got really good. I hate when a series ends, but like Cat, I see it coming.

 

My favorite scene from the book...

“Reyes. Alexander. Farrow," I said.
Seconds after I spoke his name, Reyes walked into his bedroom, and I looked across the open space directly from my room into his.
He waited for me to continue.
"I feel like there's something missing from my bedroom."
A dimple appeared at the corner of his mouth. "You don't say."
"Any idea what that might be?"
He glanced around my room as well, then shrugged. "I can't imagine."
"Oh, wait," I said, stepping from my room into his, "wasn't there something here? Like, I don't know, a wall or something?"
He looked up. "You could be right. I do seem to remember a barrier of some kind here."
"Yep," I said, stepping closer, "I definitely remember a partition separating our apartments." When his only response was a mischievous tilt of his full mouth, I asked, "Where did you put my wall?"
He crossed his arms over his chest and leaned against his doorframe. "What makes you think I took it?"
"It was there this morning."
"And that means I took it? Maybe you just misplaced it. Where exactly did you see it last?"
I pressed my lips together. "You tore down my wall."
The smile he wore could've charmed the panties off a nun. Completely unrepentant, he admitted, "I tore down your wall.”

(Ok, ok... we occasionally threat - never with bodily harm - for the books sooner or a hint of what is to come... all in good fun!) We received our copies of this 4th installment last night with a promise of a treat in the end! Needless to say, we both squealed and probably received CRAZY looks from our husbands - but we were TOO busy texting each other about it! We will share our treat with y'all at the end of our DUAL REVIEW of WILD AT HEART! 

FAVORITE SUPPORTING CHARACTER IN THIS INSTALLMENT

Catherine: Having to choose just one is proving too difficult of a task for me. Maybe it is too soon? Maybe I am still suffering from the trama of reading the latest installment; but I have picked TWO. My first choice is: Rex Vogel. Why now? Before now, Rex was a discussion topic, an idol... In Wild At Heart, you meet the man behind the paintbrush and the man behind making Dare who he is today. My heart melts at his fatherly approach with both Ree and Dare during their trials and tribulations. Then you have Archer. Archer is trouble with a CAPITAL T. You get to know a little more about the man behind the privilage and the money that he is so acustomed to. While, he is still not my choice for MAN OF THE YEAR (or week for that matter...) he is finally showing the readers what Ree has always known. 

Kristyn: 
I liked Archer from the very first book. I was so disappointed in him when he proposed to her. I felt so betrayed on her behalf. But he came through. I like how he is a true friend and not an enabler. I was worried that he was going to be the one "friend" who pushed her back on pills but he is a real friend. I really hope he can find his female version of Dare. He needs to find that one woman who will make his life complete. I cant wait to see more of him.

TELL ME WHAT YOU "REE"ALLY THING
Catherine: Hands down, Ree is my FAVORITE character in this installment. Her strength has shown so brightly. Just like Archer has shown us what Ree has always seen, we finally get to see what Dare has seen all along in Ree. She is nobody's puppet anymore. She proves that when she not only stands up to her father, but up to Dare as well. GO REE! I could do this. I could be brave enough for both of us. Even if it meant picking a fight with fucking Goliath.

Kristyn:
I was so proud of her. I can't say it enough. There were times I was so worried she would relapse but she didn't! I love how easily she loves and accepts people. She could so easily be bitter and broken and not trust anyone but she doesn't. She accepts Dares family as her own.

"DARE" TO SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS
Catherine: Dare is responsible for Mac & Cheese making me HOT! :) Even broken, Dare Wilde was the most beautiful man I'd ever seen. During Dare's stay in the hospital, you get to see the strength he brings to his family and Ree. He is truly the glue that holds this Wilde bunch together. I was able to see a side of Dare that was not the strong one. Ree took that role for the majority of this installment. Their swap of positions made me think of the quote 

Kristyn:

Once again he pissed me off by pushing her away. I am so tired of the, when I am not pushing you away, you can push me away routine. Im glad he finally gave in. I understood why he was doing it but I didn't like it.

IF YOU HAD TO CHOOSE TO CROSS THE PATH OF ONE: REE'S DAD or DARE'S DAD
Catherine:
Both scare the living daylights out of me, BUT if I had to choose - I think I could take on Ree's dad. 
Kristyn: 
Ree's dad definitely. Im so glad she finally stood up to him. I was so proud of her! Tat moment was one that I had been waiting on for a while. I just wish the rest of her family could see him as a bad father and person as well.

LINGERING THOUGHTS
Catherine:
Each installment gets SO much better. The growth that happened between Ree & Dare and within themselves was monumental. Dare and I had shared undeniable chemistry since day one, but there was also something even more powerful pulsing between us. Something stronger, deeper, and as terrifying as it was wonderful. Love had the power to both create and destroy. Sometimes in the same moment. The story almost feels complete, and I am 100% invested in this family! I am going to be an honorary Wilde family member, go to the family reunions and probably inappropriately hit on all the men! I will prompt them with ice cubes; possibly lime popsicles. I read this installment in one sitting. I am a lady who values her sleep, and I finished just shy of 2am and went directly to Facebook to send Victoria a message only to tell her that she and Jinsey left me without words again. Only words I could find were to discuss with Kristyn how to get this book into Oprah's hands. It is THAT good and needs to be THAT big! 
Kristyn:
I do have to admit, I liked the last one better. Not because this one was bad, but because I missed the people. I missed the band mates and I missed his family. I felt like something was missing. This one was so good with  Rees character development. Im so glad she finally stood up to her dad! I was so proud. This ending was a cliffhanger but it was something that I saw coming so it wasn't that bad. I do have one question... Does this top secret sexy mac and cheese recipe really exist and can we have it?

Escaped Artist #3

Escaped Artist picks up shortly after Out of Control ended. Dare decides to pick up and leave after the Archer/Ree situation and spend sometime with his siblings while his brother's band, No Man's Land, is performing in Amsterdam.

With each chapter the POV changes between Dare & Ree. It is always a refreshing change to get to see the inner workings of both characters in a story. The alternating views really give you a wider picture of the whole story.

In this installment you are introduced to a ton of supporting characters from all the members of the band, Sia (from Dare's past) and you get to know familiar faces like Dalia and Dax so much more.

We must tell you, we think that Victoria & Jinsey own stock in a heart attack/panic attack medicine, because these CLIFF HANGERS are killing us!!!

Favorite Supporting Character in Escaped Artist?

Catherine: DASH. Hands down. The man has so many layers. The point when he became my favorite is when he walked Ree out after the "morning after" and give her simple, yet hopeful words of encouragement. He cares for the people around him, even if he doesn't shower them with hugs and 'I love yous!' Plus, he is quote and swoon worthy! 

Kristyn:  Synner. I don't know why but I loved him from the second he helped her pick up her bag. he is such a guy. He loves the women but is still such a good guy. He saw a girl down and out, helped her and took her home without taking advantage. I cant wait to hear his story.

Dare to elaborate?

Catherine: I adore Dare. This has been my stance from my first meeting him in Untamed. I fell even more in Out of Control. But, something about him in this book just knocked it out of the park. His willingness to open up about her, his insistence on getting help, his interactions with his siblings. He seems so different from when we met him those years ago. He wants more, and continues to show his dedication and love for his family with each action he takes. (Ree included!) I am eager to see how his story progresses with the remaining 3 books in his portion of the Wilde ride. To be completely honest, there are TWO confrontations I am dying to have play out. Dare vs The Mayor and Dare vs Archer. The one I never want to see is Dare vs Jackson, because I truly believe that will land him in jail. 

Kristyn: I loved him in this book. Before not so much. he kept walking away and it made me so mad. Anything worth having is worth fighting for and he never would. He walked. this time was different. I wanted to stand up and cheer. She didn't have to chase after him this time!  Like Catherine, I want to see those showdowns. When he said he would kill Jackson, I actually got scared for him. 

Whose story are you looking forward to reading after this one is done?



Kristyn: I want to read about Blue. I really like her. I can see the love she has for Synner and I want them to be together. If not, I want her to hook up with some awesome guy who will take her mind off of him. I honestly just cant wait to hear more about the band period.

Catherine: I am most eager to read about Dalia. I loved the 'situation' at the end and how she stood up to her brothers! I think being in her thoughts would be a BLAST!

Overall thoughts, feelings, tears shed or breathes head?

Catherine: With each installment, the story gets better!!! I layers that are shed are amazingly eye-opening glimpses into the characters pasts. Something as simple as red head can trigger a reaction to the likes of Ree and her fear of dark places. With something as minor as an opened door allows you to see that Dalia is all grown up and yet those boys will be boys. Someone has a bloody nose to prove it! A soft spoken named revealed, can open the eyes of someone who knows little of the woman who he loves past. Always seems magical when an author (or authors in this case) paint a story that sucks you in so deep you become invested in these 'FRIENDS' you've made. You think of them when you pass a tattoo parlor or see vendors on the streets in New Orleans selling their art. There are tons of authors that can write a good story, but few can make you feel a part of the story, but these two do that with each page you turn. It truly is WORD MAGIC!!! 

Kristyn:  This was my favorite so far. I love these books so much. I think this has got to be my favorite of this genre. I need them in book form all together to keep forever on my bookcase. Its so real to me. I can imagine me sitting in the room while the band is joking and having fun. I want to be there. to be a part of it. I cant wait to read more and more. That ending!!!  Each installment, I say that the ending can't get any worse, but then it does!! Seriously... it cant get any worse. Right?

Reasonable Doubt: Volume 2

She lied to me... 
She betrayed the one rule that I'm most adamant about: Honesty. Complete and utter fucking honesty. 
I really wish she was someone else—someone who didn't have the ability to make me feel, someone I could easily discard like the hundreds of women before her. 
She isn't. 
I'm drawn to her like I've never been drawn to a woman before—completely captivated by the very sight of her. But unfortunately, with my past slowly re-surfacing for all of the world to see, I'll have to find a way to let her go. 
She can never be mine. 

Initial Thoughts when you first finished it?
Catherine: Who knew 67 pages could hurt so much? Could leave me NEEDING so much more? Did I forget to breathe during those 67 pages? Yep! Sure did! And I knew better. The first volume (which I fucking LOVED!) left me emotional scarred and in dire need of therapy. Andrew and Aubrey left us dying for some more of this story with the cliffhanger of all cliffhangers in the first volume. This middle book let us learn a lot more about my dear Andrew. I know I might not be the norm with this thought, but I love chapters or books that inform us more about the characters we love and are rooting for. 

Kristyn: oh my gosh!! I thought the first book had a cliff hanger! This woman needs to win an award for seriously killing me and giving me palpitations! This book is so good. 

If you could choose one supporting character to know more about (with NO explanation in case of spoilers) who would it be?
Catherine: Emma Henderson. 

Kristyn: I agree with Catherine on this one. 


Favorite part of the book?
Catherine: I am sure Kris will say the same thing, but I adored the banter between the two via email or text. It was light, fun and sexy. And then I loved getting the visual of his home. Really able to get a glimpse, albeit a very controlled by Andrew glimpse, into the man behind the filthy mouth that we love so much. 

Kristyn: I did say the same thing! I sent Catherine a message halfway through the book saying how much I loved the playfulness between them. The silly, fun emails. I loved how they seemed to get along so well outside of sex. They really had chemistry and I imagined them a happy playful couple.

Kristyn:

"Are you happy?" He whispered.

"Yes..."

"Are you sure? Is there anything else outside of my comfort zone you'd like me to do for you tonight?"

"Not tonight, but you could make me breakfast in the morning."

"I don't do pillow talk."

"It's not pillow talk." I scoffed. "It's part of being a gentleman."

"I never said I was a gentleman..."

Final Thoughts: 
Catherine: These are characters I am invested in, and while the storyteller has decided to serve the story in appetizer portions doesn't make the meal any less delicious. I just loved it. This 2nd time around I was emotionally prepared for a cliffhanger. (if you expected otherwise after the whopper in the 1st volume, I don't even know what to say) Even with all  my preparation, my heart still ached with each bump in the road. Small (to the strangers eye) gestures made by both parties made my heart melt with anticipation of some positive progress. My heart goes out to those who are weak hearted and read this series before it is complete. And to the ever talented Whitney, you did it again. I am patiently waiting for Andrew to return to me. 

Kristyn: I love these books. I have to admit, out of all the books I have read in this genre, I love them as a couple the most. They fit together so well. They just seem like they have the potential to live happily ever after. I cannot wait to read the rest. They are officially my favorite "couple" if only he would let them be a couple.
