Hard To Hold On To

RELEASES AUGUST 19th, 2014
Edward "Easy" Cantrell knows better than most the pain of not being able to save those he loves--which is why he is not going to let Jenna Dean out of his sight. He may have just met her, but Jenna's the first person to make him feel alive since that devastating day in the desert more than a year ago.

Jenna has never met anyone like Easy. She can't describe how he makes her feel--and not just because he saved her life. No, the stirrings inside her reach far beyond gratitude.

As the pair are thrust together while chaos reigns around them, they both know one thing: the things in life most worth having are the hardest to hold on to.

***Given this ARC in exchange for an honest review***

Laura Kaye's HARD INK series is one I am very found of. This novella is no different. You met Easy during the team's rescue mission of Sara's sister, Jenna. While Easy is battling demons of his own, he feels this instant connection with Jenna. She apparently feels it too, when it becomes obvious to everyone at Hard Ink that he is the only one who calms the on edge nerves of the recently rescued, Jenna.

The age difference isn't the only thing that stands to challenge the feelings that are brewing between these two. Easy and Jenna lived such different lives, how could either of them understand? It just works. They just fit together. Perfectly. He says it so perfectly to her with two simple words, "I gotchu."

I have but one complaint with this intense novella. It was a novella. :) I feel there is so much more to Easy and Jenna's story that when I got to the end, I thought it was a mistake. I needed more. I guess that is the sign of a good series. If the ending was complete and all loose strings tied up in a pretty bow - what would lead you to the next book?

Laura has me eagerly awaiting book #3 in the Hard Ink series. I will leave you with one of my favorite interactions between the two, besides the milkshake!

"What do you see then?"
"A really hot guy I'd like to get to know more."
"Really hot, huh?"
"Well, kinda hot, anyway."
"Nuh-uh. Can't take it back now."

See? Like I said, they may be two completely different people from different worlds, but they fit together like the last two puzzle pieces. Laura and 'Hard To Hold On To' get a 4 stars from me! I need more!

Show Laura some LOVE!!!
